Firstly, our metal overlord Mr. Kirk ‘The Ripper’ Hammett is absolutely fine. The Metallica guitarist’s ego may be slightly bruised after he slipped on a wah pedal at a rainy show in Milan Italy, overnight.
Secondly. we wouldn’t dare waste any more of your time with editorial fluff (there’s more of that below), so let’s get straight to the clip.
Ummm- I slipped on my wet wah pedal.
It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower. #MetInMilan @Metallica pic.twitter.com/BbOamgkKhF— Kirk Hammett (@KirkHammett) May 8, 2019
As you can see, Master Hammett shared the footage himself saying he felt like he was “playing guitar in the shower”.
Fans have been predictably supportive and loving, with one noting: “I mean, your feet are on a Wah Pedal 65% of the time. This was bound to happen sooner or later.”
One genius even made a GIF for our viewing pleasure and included the lyrics from ‘Moth into Flame’ off of the LP Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. Snaps for quoting the exact song Hammett was performing the solo for when he slipped though.
🎶 You’re falling, but you think you’re flying high, high again. 🎶 – @Metallica
Hang in there @KirkHammett! 🤘☠️🤘 pic.twitter.com/w0wzJt1Sih

Metallica are right in the midst of their European tour that will take them right up until August.
The real metalhead hysteria will start in October though, when Metallica tours Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot. Tickets for Metallica’s upcoming shows are available here.
Slipknot will release their currently untitled new album on August 8th, so there’ll be plenty of nu tunes for every maggot so lap up.
The tour will kick off celebrations in Perth on October 17th, continuing for another eight dates across Australia and New Zealand, rounding off on November 2nd at Mt. Smart stadium.
