Last month, Australian metalheads were sent into a collective of mass hysterics and riff-induced tear-ups upon the announcement that Metallica would return to our shores this year.

A James Hetfield sized “YEAH!” was bellowed when it was revealed that nu metal titans Slipknot would support the tour, rounding off the fact that Australian arenas should start prepping for the heaviest event that’ll ever enter their wombs.

Now, due to overwhelming demand, a second and final Melbourne show has been added to the tour. The metal legends will play a second show at  Marvel Stadium on Thursday, October 24, with tickets on sale this Friday April 5th.

Considering Metallica hadn’t yet toured their most recent effort Hardwired…..to Self Destruct  and were last in the country for Soundwave 2013, it was clear Aussies were in dire need of witnessing the undisputed leaders of the Big Four. Slipknot last graced the country with their presence in 2016, off the back of their most recent release .5 The Gray Chapter.

The band are gearing up to release their currently untitled new album on August 8th, so there’ll be plenty of nu tunes for every maggot so lap up under the bright lights of the country’s biggest stages.

The tour will kick off celebrations in Perth on October 17th, continuing for another eight dates across Australia and New Zealand, rounding off on November 2nd at Mt. Smart stadium.
