Kiwi reggae-rockers Summer Thieves have seemingly blown up from nowhere of late.
The Dunedin locals are back with a fresh new single, ‘All I Want’, and we’re lucky enough to be able to premiere the track’s music video.
The video was created by Wade and Bingham, something the boys were quite excited about.
“We went back to where it all started. A place where we had many good times and grew as individuals. 186 is tattooed on my big belly so it is close to my heart… literally,” said lead singer Jake Barton.
The video features the band embracing true ‘scarfie’ style, replicated in Dunedin’s notorious 186 Victoria Road flat – the exact same place the band first met.
The Summer Thieves story started in 2017, when Barton, Johnny Ward [drums, vocals], Adam Spencer [bass], and Izzy Bones [lead guitar, keys] commenced works on the now-released debut album WARPED.
They then developed themselves, gigging throughout local venues and now, their shows are becoming increasingly popular.

The last year or so alone has seen them hitting stages with Macklemore, Peking Duk and Six60. Plus, they’ve already sold out not one, but four nationwide [NZ] tours.
‘All I Want’ scored a huge premiere on The Edge radio, and in the weeks since its release, it’s scored over 60,000 streams. The track comes off their upcoming EP, and is the follow-up to ‘Get Away’.
