Metallica are set to enter the world of literature again, announcing that they’ll be releasing a kid’s book later this year, giving younger fans a look at their illustrious career.

Over the years, we’ve seen numerous artists enter the world of the written word for children, lending their talents to ensuring that their younger audience gets a chance to enjoy their work.

While we’ve seen books like The Little Rockstar’s ABCDC, we’ve also witnessed Jack White, Green Day, Peking Duk, Tom DeLonge, and numerous others try their hand at writing for young fans.

Now, thrash metal icons Metallica are set to offer up their own book, announcing The ABCs Of Metallica earlier today.

Taking to Instagram this morning, the group revealed that they’re “having a bit of fun with [their] latest book release”, with The ABCs Of Metallica set for release on November 26th.

“Not only do you get a rhyming, illustrated history of Metallica from A to Z, but a portion of the proceeds from your purchase will go directly to All Within My Hands Foundation, assisting us in supporting workforce education and the fight against hunger,” they explained.

“Including rhymes and illustrations, The ABCs of Metallica looks back at the history of the band from, duh, A to Z!,” they continued on their website.

“Each letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from Garage Days to Master of Puppets to fun facts about us.

“The book is co-authored by Howie Abrams (The Merciless Book of Metal ListsHip-Hop Alphabet), with illustrations by Michael “Kaves” McLeer, who participated in Metallica’s Obey Your Master exhibit in 2012.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Metallica have unveiled a special release for charitable purposes, with their 2018 acoustic performance also being released in order to raise funds for their All Within My Hands Foundation.

At this stage, there’s no word as to what each letter of the alphabet will stand for in the new book, though there’s a good chance ‘C’ will represent Cliff Burton, while ‘D’ may nor may not feature an appearance from Dave Mustaine.

In related news, Metallica are set to return to Australian shores for the first time in six years later this year. Check out all the details of this long-awaited tour below!
