Legendary beer makers, who also happen to be musicians on the side, Iron Maiden, have just added a limited special edition brew to their Trooper line of beers. This one is called ‘Day of the Dead’, which is more than fitting for the band.
This brand new beer was made in collaboration with Robinsons Brewery, and is Iron Maiden’s way of paying homage to the titular Mexican tradition, the annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations. The festival itself is made to honour those who have recently past, and keep them alive in memory. Thus, on the front of the beer, you can spot Iron Maiden mascot Eddie donning a traditional sugar skull upon his face, which is a typical look seen on the Mexican holiday.
“We are delighted to be bringing our loyal drinkers a new, limited edition, look for our award-winning Trooper,” said Trooper brand manager Sam Kennerley. “The timing couldn’t be more ideal with Day of the Dead just around the corner and Iron Maiden continuing on their sell-out ‘Legacy of the Beast’ world tour with stadium and arena shows, fittingly, in Mexico and also Brazil (Including 100,000 people at Rock In Rio), Chile and Argentina in September and October.”
“We hope that our drinkers will enjoy the tribute we have paid to Mexico’s time-honoured tradition and will pick up a bottle whilst it is available between October and November,” Kennerley concluded.
The beer will only be available during the distant months of October and November, so if you want to get your hands on some special edition Iron Maiden crafted beer, you better be ready. You can also check out export information and a whole lot more details on the official Trooper beer website.
Iron Maiden’s ‘Legacy of the Beast’ tour continues through mid-October.
