20 years on from the release of their debut album, Muse have announced the release of an extensive box set covering their early years.

It might be hard to believe, but Saturday, September 7th marked the 20th anniversary of Showbiz, the debut album from English rock outfit Muse.

Coming off the release of two EPs in the preceding 18 months, Showbiz was a mighty debut for the trio, charting the world over, and serving as an indicator of what was to come with their follow-up album, Origin Of Symmetry in 2010.

Now, after teasing its release earlier this year, the band have utilised this anniversary event to announce the expansive box set, Origin Of Muse.

As the band’s website explains, the new box set”will chronicle the band from their early beginnings in Devon, their early demos, first EPs, debut album and breakthrough record Origin Of Symmetry.”

Featuring nine audio CDs and four coloured vinyl discs, the entire collection is housed in a 48-page casebound book, alongside original posters, setlists, photographs and contact sheets.

In addition to featuring the first two albums from Muse, remastered on both CD and vinyl, the collection also boasts a previously unreleased collection of their first demos, B-sides for each album, instrumental demos, and live performances from the early days, to the band’s headline performance at the Reading Festival for the 10th Anniversary of Origin Of Symmetry.

It’s a lavish, expansive collection with a price to match, so if you’re keen on pre-ordering the massive set ahead of its December release, you can do so by heading along to the band’s website.
