There’s a beautiful hit of 90’s dream-pop threaded through the new single from Melbourne’s Dinosaur Beard.
A fresh taste of songwriter Adam Finnegan’s output has come to us in the form of new single ‘Alametru’, his second release for 2019. If you’re a fan of Kurt Vile or Beck, chances are you’ll dig this one. When it comes to a rather stream of consciousness style of lyricism and arrangement though, Dinosaur Beard is really doing it with his own flair attached.
The sounds are warm and intimate, perfect to listen to through a good pair of headphones and to let wash over you.
“I wanted to explore the current disconnection we have with nature and the pace in which society and technology are evolving and where we’re heading as a result,” he has said of the song. “I was ruminating on those thoughts whilst also reading and watching a lot of stuff about climate change in sheer disbelief about how we are so blindly going about destroying that very thing that is so integral to our state of well being.”
Working with producer Aaron Dobos (The Avalanches, Ceres) on this one, Dinosaur Beard has continued to let us in little by little, to a complex and beautiful musical mind.
‘Alametru’ is released this Friday, September 20th.
