A year on from his departure from BROCKHAMPTON, rapper Ameer Vann has released his debut solo material.
The six track EP Emmanuel has surfaced this week and, unsurprisingly, the music’s content reflects on his time with the group and his departure following a number of sexual assault allegations to his name.
Across the EP, Vann alludes to the negative effects money played in their relationship and his personal life since leaving the group.
Touching on mental health issues and his struggles in the aftermath of his BROCKHAMPTON days, Vann’s solo music is already on Spotify to stream.
Vann was kicked out of BROCKHAMPTON last year after he was accused of emotional and sexual abuse by ex-partners, as well as having sexual relations with a minor. He has not been officially charged with any crimes.
At the time, BROCKHAMPTON were working on their then titled Puppy project, which was ultimately shelved, their tour dates cancelled.
Since then, they’ve been able to make a comeback and go from strength to strength with the release of last year’s Iridescence and this year’s Ginger. They’ll be returning to Australia this summer for the FOMO Festival.
