It blows our minds to be writing on this again, but in unfortunate circumstances The Thundamentals have been forced to call out a fan for assault at one of their gigs.
A statement shared on band member Tuka’s Instagram described how at their performance at this Brisbane’s Beer InCider event earlier this week, a man who had his cap removed by a fan behind him, “turned around, saw a young blonde girl…assumed she was the one who took his hat, grabbed her, pushed her to the ground, and smacked her in the face.
“For the next 15 minutes he hid behind his mates and taunted her slicing his hand across his throat…even after people told him she wasn’t the one who did it.
“We alerted security…but he ducked down and sprinted away.” Swipe left on the post below to read the full statement.
“This kind of thing is happening all the time. It destroys me” said Tuka in his own statement.
“I think Thundas and myself pull and beautifully diverse crowd that seem to enjoy themselves without assaulting one another.
“This is not directed at all men, most men are well rounded, loving and calm people. A hand full of you are not and in turn you are forcing society to form a distrust towards men in general. Trust me you don’t want that. It’s a loose loose bro.”

It’s a horrendous issue which prompted a significant amount of artists speak out against misbehavior at their gigs earlier this year.
Despite raised awareness however, history shows that a large gathering of people is always going to be ruined by the minority.
“Investing love in the strangers around them at a show, you all have something in common or you wouldn’t be there in the first place” said Tuka.
“Look after each other.”
