The Killers appear to be gearing up to unleash some more new music soon, with a cryptic social media post seeming to hint at a new album.
Just over two years ago, fans of The Killers were celebrating the release of Wonderful Wonderful, the band’s first album in five years. While the group hit the ground running when it came to live shows, frontman Brandon Flowers promised us the wait wouldn’t be quite as long for album number six.
“In a perfect world, I could see the end of the year having something,” Flowers explained back in January, “But it’s probably more likely that it would be early 2020.”
Needless to say, with the band also releasing ‘Land Of The Free’ earlier this year, and posting some snaps from inside the studio back in April, fans have been hoping a new album is imminent.
Now, thanks to a new Instagram post, it’s looking as though the group’s sixth record could arrive quite soon.
Taking to social media yesterday, The Killers shared an image of a whiteboard full of what are ostensibly track titles.
While ‘Land Of The Free’ doesn’t appear, we do see that the group seem to have been working on songs such as ‘Blowback’, ‘Dying Breed’, ‘Just Can’t Quit’, and ‘Party People’, to name a few. However, with no caption to accompany the post, it’s all pure speculation at the current time.
Interestingly though, almost none of the song titles present here match up with a previous picture shared by the band earlier this year, which included songs like ‘Status Quo’, ‘The Moment’, and ‘Hear Me Out’, though ‘Running Towards’ does seem to have made the cut both times.
Whatever the case, it appears as though we might have a little while to wait before we hear new music from The Killers. However, it certainly seems like they’re gaining quite an inventory of what we assume are classic tracks.
