The world’s only Flanders-themed metal band, Okilly Dokilly, begin their inaugural Australian tour this week. The tour features five shows on the east coast-ily doastily. The heavy “Nedal” five-piece will be supported by homegrown Simpsons-themed doom rock act, Dr. Colossus. To quote Flanders himself, the shows promise to be “fine and dandy like sour candy”. Tour dates are as follows:
Okilly Dokilly Tour Dates
Tuesday, February 11th: The Zoo, Brisbane, QLD
Wednesday, February 12th: The Basement, Canberra, ACT
Thursday, February 13th: Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, NSW
Friday, February 14th: Crowbar, Sydney, NSW
Saturday, February 15th: Corner Hotel, Melbourne, VIC
The band have been touring steadily since the release of their second album, Howdilly Twodilly, in March of 2019. Most of the lyrics on that album, and indeed the band’s entire catalogue, feature direct quotes from Springfield’s favourite neighbourino. With hits like “Reneducation” and “White Wine Spritzer”, the band’s live shows feature a unique blend of energy and ridiculousness. And inflatable donuts.

The group’s five members, Head Ned, Bed Ned, Shred Ned, Dread Ned and Zed Ned are “very excited to be playing in Australia for the first time,” Head Ned told Oztix.
“We’re extra excited to be playing these shows with the Simpsons-themed doom metal band, Dr Colossus. They popped up on our radar very early on and we can’t think of a better band on the planet to play with.”
“I think these shows are going to be a ton of fun. I’m also told that Australian circle pits swirl clockwise, so we’re excited to see that.”
Following their Aussie dates, the band will jump across the ditch to play a show both in Auckland and Wellington. Then, they’ll head home, presumably to cover shifts at The Leftorium or lead ill-fated Boy Scouts trips.
