In a much-needed reminder that miracles can and do happen, the Ned Flanders-inspired heavy metal band – Yes, that one – will be coming to Australia for a run of headlined dates. Come February next year, Okilly Dokilly will be in town, Neighbourinos.

Okilly Dokilly began making waves before they were even fully realised. The internet wasn’t really sure just how TF a Ned Flanders-inspired metal band would work, gosh darn it, Okilly Dokilly do it with oomph. What started off as a promo shoot and a handful of tracks has turned into a global phenomenon with the band releasing two full-length albums, both informed entirely by the ways of stupid, sexy Flanders.

In 2016, they released their seminal record Howdilly Doodilly, confirming the hype from the release with a follow up album, Howdilly Twodilly, which dropped earlier in the year. Both releases may have one foot set firmly in the land of LOLs, but the other foot stomps into the realm of incredible musicianship.

What may or may not have started as a solid joke has turned into a moment enjoyed by millions as the band hit viral status with just about all they do. The result has been Ned Metal, or “Nedal”, an entire new genre, movement, way of living.

The tour will be an entire Simpson-themed Lollapalooza, with equally as Simpsons-inspired doom rock band, Dr. Colossus joining The Neds on all 5 shows. As you can see by the dates, the bands will be in town for a good time, not a long time.
