Rhythm guitarist for Falling In Reverse, and former member of A Smile From The Trenches, Derek Jones has reportedly died at 35 years of age.
Frontman Ronnie Radke took to Instagram today to share a heartfelt post about the late guitarist, where it was also featured as the first time fans knew about the death of Derek Jones.
“I’ll never forget when you picked me up from jail in your old tour van to start Falling In Reverse,” Radke wrote.
“Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever. Rest In Peace Derek Jones. My heart is broken.”
Jones musical career saw him play in two bands, both post-hardcore band Falling In Reverse, as well as American rock group A Smile From The Trenches. Throughout his time in each outfit, the musicianship of Jones featured on five albums and an EP.

While there is currently no additional news of how or when the esteemed guitarist passed away, fans remain heartbroken, with several citing “RIP, Derek” including one fan saying, “there’s no way, I’m so so sorry for you loss, Ronnie. This breaks my fucking heart to pieces.”
Falling In Reverse was last here in Australia in 2019 at Good Things Festival, as well as featuring in Download Festival the year prior. Additionally, the outfit are set to bring their Count Rockula Tour down under later this year, as their first headlining tour since 2016.
There is no word yet as to if they’ll continue to play these upcoming shows, neither is there any details of the death of their guitarist, Derek Jones.
