Wayne’s new show is named in reference to Young Money Entertainment, the label he founded in 2005. The label was set up as a subsidiary of Cash Money Records, who signed Wayne in 1996 when he was just 13 years old. After years of dispute with Cash Money boss Birdman, Young Money’s ownership was transferred from Cash Money to Universal in 2018. Wayne also took over Birdman’s 49% stake.

Notable Young Money signees include Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga. The label has also issued stacks of mixtapes and LPs from Wayne, including the long awaited Tha Carter V in 2018. Both Drake and Minaj are already Beats 1 radio hosts. Drake launched OVO Sound Radio in 2015, while Minaj has been hosting Queen Radio since 2018.

Wayne took to Instagram to announce the imminent launch of Young Money Radio. “I’ll have heavyweights calling in discussing sports, music, comedy… everything!” he wrote. He’ll be streaming the first few minutes on Instagram live, while the whole show can be heard through Apple’s Music app.

You don’t require an Apple Music subscription to listen to Beats 1. You can find the stream under the radio tab in Apple’s Music app. Just look for the Beats 1 Live stream.
