Only last month, American industrial metal band Ministry announced that they were working on a new album during quarantine. Well, now they’ve given us a little bit of a taste of what’s to come, releasing their newest single ‘Alert Level (Quarantine Mix)’.

Get ready for a thrilling new song to keep on repeat for the rest of the duration of isolation, as Ministry has released their newest single ‘Alert Level (Quarantine Mix)’ today, as well as continue to state that their 15th studio album is on the way for Nuclear Blast Records.

As America boils down to having to either reelect the bumbling current leader President Donald Trump, or instead elect prior Vice President Joe Biden as the new head of the country, emotions and tensions are running high, and Ministry has addressed just that in their newest song.

The song is cited as being a timely release, with America currently in lockdown, but still seeing massive protests from ignorant citizens in the face of the global pandemic while also facing political corruption, to boot.

Discussing the newest track with Bill Burr on his Monday Morning Podcast, Frontman Al Jourgensen has said that although they finished the song back in January before quarantine, “the original plan was to finish the new record before the July ‘Industrial Strength’ US tour” so the band could “have an Election Day release.”

However, as the pandemic began to spiral out of control, Jourgensen notes that the song felt so “relevant” in these “bizarre times” that they decided to push for an early release. “Considering that this song features the question ‘How concerned are you?’ I’ll be interested to see how folks answer it, themselves.”

The new release also prompts fans to voice their concerns, and be part of the larger conversation by thinking about the song’s central question of “How concerned are you?

Fans have been asked to take to social media, and upload a short clip of themselves answering the question however they see fit alongside the hashtag #MinistryAlertLevel, where the metal outfit themselves will be watching and selecting the most meaningful videos to be shared at a later date.

‘Alert Level (Quarantine Mix)’ is just one song released from the upcoming 15th album from Ministry. Although there are no confirmed dates for their follow up to 2018’s AmeriKKKant, the band has told everyone that more details will be announced soon.

It is also unknown when we’ll see the likes of Ministry in Australia, as while they were supposed to be here for Download Festival this year, the plans were thwarted by the current pandemic.
