Iron Maiden are hoping to lock in a 2022 Australian tour

Aussie metalheads were left heartbroken after the might Iron Maiden were forced to cancel their Legacy Of The Beast tour amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The band were set to kick off the tour with Killswitch Engage, on May 1st. Their first Australian appearance was met with such enthusiasm that an extra show was added in Melbourne. Unfortunately, it was not to be. As lockdown restrictions loomed over the world, fans were forced to reconcile with the knowledge that there would be no thrashing on the horizon, and the band were forced to cancel the tour entirely.

“We still intend to bring this great Legacy Of The Beast show to you all as soon as we can and I promise we will do everything we can to achieve this with our promoters and subject to what is happening around us globally,” the group wrote in a statement. “Take care of yourselves, be safe and be smart.”

It looks as if Iron Maiden tragics will be getting their tour eventually, but they’re in for a lengthy wait. In a statement, the band’s co-manager Rod Smallwood revealed that the band were looking at locking in Aussie tour dates for early 2022.

“In respect of what should have been the opening leg of the 2020 tour starting on May 1 in Perth, Australia and visiting New Zealand, the Philippines, Japan, Dubai and Israel, we are currently working on a possible return to as many of these countries as we can, in some guise, in the first half of 2022, more news on that will follow at the appropriate time,” he shared.

“The band are all fine and send you guys their best wishes, they are very much looking forward to getting back on stage next year and seeing you all so, please, continue to take care of yourselves and stay SMART.”

Patience is pleasures greatest advocate I suppose. It is unclear as to whether Killswitch Engage are going to jump on these rescheduled dates, but for your sake I’m crossing my fingers and toes.
