Billy Corgan has reopened his Madame ZuZu’s Tea Shop and Art Studio for the first time in two years.
The Smashing Pumpkins rocker launched the store back in 2012, but was forced to close as the space it had been occupying was too small.
Corgan and his partner Chloe Mendel have since reopened at a new location in Highland Park, Illinois. According to Eater, the store reopened over Labor Day weekend for takeaway and outdoor dining. The menu boasts a smorgasbord of teas, in addition to a bunch of gluten-free vegan food.
It’s yet to be revealed what the second iteration of Madame ZuZu’s will look like in terms of events. During its initial run, Corgan would occasionally perform and host parties.
The new joint is reportedly equipped for performances, but with the world being the way that it is, we won’t be witnessing it in all its glory for some time.
If you’re nowhere near Illinois, but are dying to immerse yourself in Billy Corgan’s tea realm, you can buy a range of teas from the Madame ZuZu online store.

Last month The Smashing Pumpkins unveiled two new songs, ‘Cyr’ and ‘The Colour of Love’. The tracks marked the first new material from the band since their 2018 Rick Rubin-produced album, Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / Lp: No Past. No Future. No Sun.
In an interview with Tennessean Corgan revealed that the band had plans to release a double album later this year. Heralding the forthcoming record “the first real album” since the band’s reunion, a subtly snarky takedown of the band’s 2018 effort.
“This is the first album since the album that came out in 2000, Machina, where me, James [Iha] and Jimmy [Chamberlin] worked on something for a very long time,” Corgan explained.
“It’s got a greater conceptual base, and it’s probably a wider swath of music.
