Sydney’s Sarah Jane is back with not only an amazing new single, but a stunning video to accompany it, with ‘Apparently’ arriving ahead of its official release tomorrow.

If you’ve ever considered yourself a fan of Australian music, then Sarah Jane is undoubtedly one name you would need to know. A prolific songwriter and performer, Sarah has spent the last few years amassing a powerful online following, with more than 30 million views on YouTube.

Needless to say, she’s something of a viral sensation thanks to her work, which has seen her release albums Absence and The Tainted Timeline across the past two years, in addition to records made with band The Violet Stones over the same period.

Having shared new single ‘Lately’ back in February, Sarah Jane is gearing up to release a new EP in the very near future, and to celebrate, she’s given fans an early look at her latest track, ‘Apparently’.

Set for release on Friday, April 16th, ‘Apparently’ is an acoustic-driven number with resounding, commanding lyrics and features a strong influence from the ’90s era.

“‘Apparently’ is about the people who are broken and tend to take it out on the ones around them,” Sarah explains. “It’s taken me a while to realise that it wasn’t me who was at fault. ‘Apparently’ is about the moment I realised that I’ve never been apologised to, the moment I found out the root of my insecurities & the moment I knew how to heal.”

Featuring George Pauley on mixing and mastering, Sarah played all of the instruments on the track herself, except for percussion, which was handled by her partner Ben Shone. Keeping total control of her artistic vision and creating something truly special, ‘Apparently’ also comes accompanied by a slick video, directed and edited by Jack Barratt which helps to contextualise the message of the track.
