Soulja Boy is embroiled in a new lawsuit from a woman who claims that the rapper emotionally, sexually and domestically abused her during their relationship.
The civil suit against Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was filed in California state court on Thursday, May 11th. Way is being sued for domestic violence, negligence, sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and gender violence, as TMZ reports.
The lawsuit outlines that Soulja Boy and the unnamed woman, listed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, “began their on-and-off romantic relationship in 2007,” and later “restarted their relationship in a more serious capacity in 2014 until mid 2019.”
The suit alleges multiple incidents of violence inflicted by Soulja Boy, whilst Jane Doe was pregnant with his child in late 2015. The rapper allegedly “quickly became irate and violent” as they “were having a simple conversation.” Jane Does alleges that “[Soulja Boy] began to punch [her] in the face and chest, until she could no longer stand on her feet.”
Jane Doe details one incident where she “[fell] to the ground,” after which Soulja Boy allegedly “continued to kick [her] all over her body, particularly in the stomach.” The plaintiff claims to have “suffered a miscarriage and was unable to carry her pregnancy into full term” after the alleged attack.
The rapper allegedly threatened Jane Doe’s life on multiple occasions. The suit cites an incident that allegedly took place in April 2016, in which, Soulja Boy “posted a video of himself holding a gun, threatening to take [Jane Doe]’s life.” Then, “[o]n or about February 2019,” the rapper allegedly “tightly gripped [Jane Doe]’s neck and choked her while threatening her life.”
