After Amy’s death, collaborator Mark Ronson took her crushing original vocal track and backed it with sumptuous production from the Dap-Kings (who performed on Back to Black.)
‘Monkey Man’ – Toots and the Maytals
As far as Amy Winehouse covers go, this is definitely the cheekiest, most joyful. Amy’s cover of Toots and The Maytals ‘Monkey Man’ featured on the deluxe edition of Back To Black. Her performance of the reggae classic at Shepherds Bush in 2007 is one of the greatest.
