Only weeks after soul superstar Cee Lo Green said ‘Fuck You’ to Australia by cancelling his Good Vibrations Festival appearances to perform at the US Grammy Awards instead, the soaring fortunes of pop star Janelle Monae have led her to cancel her appearance to attend the same event. Festival organisers have issued a statement saying:

“On behalf of Jam Music, we can confirm that Janelle Monáe has just been added to the line up to perform at the Grammy awards on February 13th. This last minute announcement from the Recording Academy unfortunately means that Janelle Monáe will no longer be able to appear at the 2011 Good Vibrations Festival as planned.”

While her cancellation is disappointing, the line up still features a slew of heavyweights including UK dance legends Faithless, French pop superstars Phoenix, Ludacris, Friendly Fires, Miike Snow and Kelis.

Good Vibrations festival dates:
Saturday 12th February – Centennial Park, Sydney
Sunday 13th February – The Nursery, Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne
Saturday 19th February – Parklands Showgrounds, Gold Coast
Sunday 20th February – Claremont Showground, Perth
