DZ Deathrays are gearing up for their upcoming regional tour with a brand-new track, “Like No Other.”
Created by the band’s Shane Parsons and songwriter Maurice Santiago (aka Hearteyes), with production from Nathan Sheehy, the song reflects the band’s electro-clash and punk rock roots, with a dash of nu-disco flair.
The track came together over the course of a year, with Parsons and Santiago fine-tuning it. It’s a mix of programmed clap percussion and Simon Ridley’s signature drum sound.
“Like no other is a weird song to me,” says Shane Parsons. “Musically it goes all over the place, it’s dancey with a taste of punk and even a slight breakdown in the middle mixed with surf guitar. The lyrics are obscure and I don’t even know what they mean but they sound good so we ran with it! I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks about this new one from us!”

Following the raucous energy of “First Night Fever”, “Like No Other” drops just in time for DZ Deathrays’ ‘Weekend Warriors Regional Aus Tour’.
The two-month trek will take the trio from Bunbury to Byron Bay, electrifying regional stages across Australia.
Fresh off a sold-out UK and European tour celebrating their Black Rat anniversary, DZ Deathrays are ready to dive into their Australian run, bringing along a killer lineup of local talent, including Drunk Mums, The Beefs, Semantics, Last Quokka, Mannequin Death Squad, Pretty Uglys, Trim Reaper, Private Wives, Goon Gremlins, Itchy & The Nits, Korderoy, and No Longer Kids.
