The song has been described by the old queen himself – Elton John – as the ‘new gay anthem’ but Malaysia won’t have a bar of it. Homosexuality is a criminal offence in Malaysia, which retains colonial laws banning sodomy and even locking up transvestites under ‘public indecency’ charges.
