The latest single from Jess Cornelius’s second Teeth & Tongue album, Tambourine, is ‘Vaseline on the Lens’. The longest track on the album, it is the only one to crack the five minute mark, and thus has a little more room to play with darker riffs and a sound that weaves between wistful and sharp.

The sinister sound of Cornelius’s collaborator, Marc Regueiro-McKelvie’s guitar provides a shoegazey accompaniment to Cornelius’s full and beautifully husky voice. The drums are steady, but the vocals and guitar are doubtlessly the standouts, swirling together to create just the uncertainty that you’d find with vaseline on the lens.
