Alright, we’re goin’ out on a limb here: this might not exactly be tour news, but this year’s Face The Music is something you’re going to want to attend if you actually WANT to tour.

Over November 18 and 19 Face The Music 2011 will provide innumerable opportunities for your band to gain access to some of the best in the business, whether you looking to learn about signing record deals, record production, management, music licensing, festivals, overseas markets, publicity, touring, promotions or budgeting.

Over 100 of Australia’s most influential music figures will be under the one roof, such as Glenn Dickie (EMI Music Australia), Dom Alessio (Triple J), Heath Bradby (Warner Music), representatives from iconic live music venues The Tote, Pony, Revolver, Toff In Town and the Corner, and some of Australia’s best music managers Bill Cullen (The Drones, Paul Kelly, Sarah Blasko), Mark Richardson (Bertie Blackman, Kimbra), Correne Wilkie (The Cat Empire) and Ted Gardner (Barrel House, Floating Me).

Muso’s like Paul Mac, Georgia Fields, Jen Cloher, Johnny Toogood (Shihad), Henry Wagons and Jarrad Brown (Eagle & The Worm), as well as key music support agencies Music Victoria, Association Of Artist Managers, APRA and PPCA will also be on hand to, er, lend a hand.

We know from past experience that negotiating the epic list of programs, speakers and industry champs is a bit of a challenge so we reckon you bring your entire band, get your programs and highlighters out and split up to maximise your learnin’.

It’s the only way, cats.

It’s cheap as chips (not literally, but nearly) to get in and it’s one of the best opportunities you’re going to get to network with these people this year.

Full program details and ticketing info can be found at Face The Music’s website. If you can’t find a few sessions worth your time there, well, we’ll see you in the JB Hi Fi discount bin. Peace!
