One of Sydney’s oldest pubs, The Bald Faced Stag, is making a triumphant return to hosting live music after receiving a revitalising facelift.
The historic venue situated at 345 Parramatta Road, Leichhardt, plans to book fresh up-and-coming bands, as it aims to cement itself as a primo home of live music, the space equipped with state of the art Nexo PA and lighting as well as revealing a main room with more stage space for performers.
Speaking of the revamped live music venue, entertainment booker Clayton Ries said the following, “We’re really looking to diversify the events here, and exploring the folk, electro and reggae scenes.”
Having worked with some iconic Sydney venues like The Metro and Gaelic Club, as well as having a hand in starting up Festival of the Sun and One Day Sunday, Clayton will be re-energising the venue by luring a brand new mix of entertainment and launching into some out-of-the-box events. “We’ll be making this place come alive again, launching it’s new identity with a series of creative events during the day and night to really make this a go-to venue in the Inner West,” says Clayton.
The Stag aims to kick into full operation this winter just in time to melt away those awful winter blues.
The year 2015 has had it’s ups and downs in terms of opening and closing of live music venues. In very recent times, Australia has seen an additional three homes of live tunes swing-open their doors including a total game-changer of the north, one outside the lock-out zone in Sydney, the other a New York jazz hole inspired joint in the coastal city of Geelong.
