We’re expecting some big, big notes on this one.

OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder has dropped a tasty nugget of new music info for pop fans over the weekend, letting slip that the band has somehow managed to wrangle both Beyoncé and Adele onto the same song.

Interviewed backstage at the Global Citizen Festival in New York, the band was being asked about the prospect of new music on the horizon (short answer: OneRepublic have a new album coming soon). Also featuring on the track is Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who adds a bit of piano to the piece.

A casual name drop as they come, we reckon.

Beyoncé and Adele haven’t collaborated before, but we know they share an affinity for one another; particularly Adele, who you might remember was super emotional when she won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2017.

Adele hasn’t released any music since 2015’s 25, however there are rumours swirling that a new album is expected before the end of the year. For Beyoncé, she’s definitely be keeping busy – the success of her curated record The Lion King: The Gift has kept her well in the spotlight in 2019.

Both artists have collaborated with Ryan Tedder; he co-wrote ‘Rumour Has It’ and ‘Turning Tables‘ with Adele, as well as ‘XO’ and ‘Halo’ with Beyoncé.

OneRepublic are set to perform in Melbourne this October, coming to The Forum on October 8th.
