The Godfather of Shock Rock is heading back to Australia, with Alice Cooper announcing his first tour of the country in three years earlier today.

Back in 1977, an acclaimed musician by the name of Alice Cooper made his first-ever trip to Australia. Having kicked off a solo career following the dissolution of his band of the same name, this rock icon was warmly received by his Aussie fans, delivering stunning sets filled with anthemic classics.

Since then, things have only gotten better for Alice Cooper and his Aussie fans, with the rocker continuing to unleash legendary tunes at every turn, and making frequent trips back to the country to showcase his skills.

Now, having last visited Australia back in 2017, Alice Cooper has said it’s time for another visit, announcing a run of 2020 tour dates earlier today.

Kicking off in February, Alice Cooper is set to bring his ‘Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back’ tour around the country, visiting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, showing off his new stage show which incorporates a setting inside his Nightmare Castle, and features not only the return of FrankenAlice, but also the new Billion Dollar Baby.

Having started the tour last month in the US, fans have been treated to some pretty amazing tunes, including the first live performances of ‘My Stars’ since 1974, and renditions of ‘Roses On White Lace’ for the first time since the late ’80s.

But the good news doesn’t end there though, with Alice Cooper bringing along Aussie rockers Airbourne, and MC50, featuring Wayne Kramer of the legendary MC5 with an all-star band performing MC5 classics.

Bringing their ‘Kick Out The Jams: The 50th Anniversary Tour’ to Australia next year, Wayne Kramer will be joined by a veritable supergroup of musicians, including guitarist Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), bassist Doug Pinnick (King’s X), and frontman Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla).

Tickets to Alice Cooper’s 2020 tour go on sale from 2pm local time on Wednesday, August 21st. Meanwhile, a number of pre-sales kick off at various times across the preceding week, so check out all the appropriate details below.
