Legendary rocker Alice Cooper has is sending positive vibes to those doing it tough amid the coronavirus pandemic, releasing his new single titled ‘Don’t Give Up’.

Cooper is working on a new record at home while in COVID-19 lockdown, and has given us a taste of what might be to come through the new single, which comes with its own video clip.

The clip features over 20,000 submissions of footage, after Cooper urged his fans to send in snippets of video for the project. It was then put together using remote technology thanks to producer Bob Ezrin.

“‘Don’t Give Up” is out today! It’s a song about what we’ve all been going through right now and about keeping our heads up and fighting back together,” he tweeted.

The song itself starts with a monologue, during which Cooper acknowledges we are all doing it tough “in different ways” at the moment. “But you’ve got seven million brothers and sisters all in the same boat. So don’t panic. Live has a way of surviving and going on and on.”

‘Don’t Give Up’ will also be released as a limited 7-inch vinyl on August 14.

Following his decision to cancel a headlining tour with Cheap Trick earlier this year, Cooper urged music fans to support younger bands who might not have the resources to survive financially during the current pandemic.

“My band has been around a long time and are lucky enough to have the resources to survive through this,” he said… “but maybe fans should buy some merch or music from younger newer bands that can’t tour right now and don’t have the reserves that we have.”

Cooper was also recently in Australia, where he performed as part of bushfire relief concert Fire Fight Australia alongside Queen and Adam Lamber, Olivia Newton-John, k.d lang, and a stack of other local and international stars.
