Amanda Palmer has released a video alongside Jasmine Power for their track “Mr. Weinstein Will See You Now”. It arrives one year after the New York Times exposé on Harvey Weinstein which launched the #MeToo movement.

The graphic and NSFW video arrives with a description below reading “WE. ARE. THE. MEDIA. there is no marketing department, people. it’s just us. please share this video with those who need to see it.” The video’s all female cast and crew were directed and choreographed by Noémie Lafrance.

Upon the release Power took to her Facebook to say “It is TIME, it’s time women were freed, free us all, join us men, join us in this movement for freedom and equality. Hear our strengthened voices, step up and JOIN US.”

Of the video, Palmer says “We rented the space from an Episcopalian church—which felt poetic to me, having been raised as a little choir girl in that lineage. We were worried for a minute that the minister was about to shut down the production, because she was looking at our outdoor warmup from across the street and looking concerned. Then she came over to the set, watched what we were filming, and asked if we would please come back to screen the finished video for all the women of her congregation. Women are rising up, everywhere. Change is happening at every level.”

Since the release of the New York Times piece several more women in the entertainment industry have come forward with allegations against Harvey Weinstein and other prominent men in Hollywood. Weinstein now faces charges of sexual assault to which he has pleaded not guilty.
