Two months on from wrapping up their latest tour, Augie March are hitting the road once again, bringing their ‘On The Quiet’ tour back for another round.

If you’re a longtime fan of Augie March, you’d likely remember the band’s decision to strip things back in 2009 with the announcement of their ‘On The Quiet’ tour.

An east coast journey that saw the group take a loose and informal approach to their acclaimed repertoire with a series of largely acoustic performances, these shows were well-received by fans and critics alike.

Earlier this year though, the idea was revived, with another run of shows seeing the group head around the country in August, before wrapping things up with a mesmerising performance at Melbourne’s Howler.

Now, as the year slowly tends towards its end, Augie March have revealed they’re bringing the tour back for an encore, hitting the road in December for a handful of intimate gigs.

“We had a seriously good run with the On The Quiet shows earlier this year and were gratified by the turn out and the response to the sets,” the band explained.

“We also got a lot of feedback from people who missed out, apparently whole cities in fact, which was a little remiss of us come to think,” they added. “We’ve heard the righteous burble and will take action as best we can with what days are available to us.”

“We love playing this style of show, the songs get their due but there’s little, if any loss of power, it’s just a different kind. Renewable is perhaps the best way to describe it.

“And we’ll look to generate more of it in the coming years alongside our traditional set ups.”

Kicking off at the Northcote Social Club on December 12th, the group will head along to Perth and Castlemaine, before wrapping things up in Adelaide on December 22nd.

Support for most of these shows comes in the way of a solo appearance from Oh Mercy, while the Timothy Nelson Band will open proceedings in Perth.

Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss out on a chance to catch the beloved Augie March when they hit the road this December, because you never know how long it’ll be before they pop up again.
