If you’ve been hanging out for a new release by Avenged Sevenfold, your wait is almost over, with the group announcing that they’ve got a new EP on the way.

Back in 2011, A7X surprised their fans by releasing the new song, ‘Not Ready To Die’, for the video game Call Of Duty: Black Ops. Over the next few years, they continued this tradition by releasing tracks on the next two games, with ‘Carry On’ and ‘Jade Helm’ appearing on the game’s soundtracks.

Now, the band look set to collect these tracks into a new package, along with one new song.

Speaking to Kerrang! recently, frontman M. Shadows opened up in regards to what’s coming next in the Avenged Sevenfold camp, revealing they’ve got a new song on the way for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4.

“The song is dark and brooding,” he revealed. “We wanted to capture a difference feeling than a straight-ahead ‘zombie killer’ track. These songs are good places for us to experiment with our sound. I would put this in the category of ‘dark alternative.'”

He also noted that the track is set to appear on a new EP being released by the group, which will collect all the songs they’ve released for the video game series thus far.

“We just felt these songs needed a place to live, instead of being scattered all over streaming services,” Shadows explained. “We will also be releasing ‘Jade Helm’, which is the multiplayer score we did for Black Ops III. Until now that has only been available on YouTube and in the game.”

While there’s been no date set in regards to when fans will be receiving this new EP, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to be released on October 12th, so we can only assume it will be sometime next month.

In related Avenged Sevenfold news, the group are yet to unveil any new tour dates for their Australian fans since their appearance at Soundwave back in 2014. However, just last year, former Soundwave organiser AJ Maddah noted that the group are definitely keen to bring their live show back to our shores sometime soon.

“They like Australia and do want to tour. They’re not as massive here as they are in U.S/Europe, so it is costly/difficult to tour regularly,” Maddah explained to a fan on Twitter last October.

“They have been talking to Aus promoters and I’m sure we will see them on this tour. I’d love for them to be supporting Metallica.”

While Metallica haven’t given us any forthcoming tour dates either, Avenged Sevenfold did recently turn up on a fake Download Festival poster. Will there be any truth to that rumour, or will we have to wait for a headline tour sometime soon? It looks like only time will tell.
