Controversial US rapper Azealia Banks has undoubtedly divided her fanbase once again, revealing plans to reportedly quit music, claiming her fans don’t “deserve” her best work.

Over the years, there has been plenty said about US rapper Azealia Banks. In fact, following the release of her debut single ‘212’ in 2011, Banks quickly became known for her outspoken behaviour and penchant for crafting feuds with other big names.

While beefs with Lana Del Rey, Iggy Azalea, and even Russell Crowe are well-known, Banks has managed to raise the ire of Aussie rapper Ivan Ooze, Delta Air Lines, and even Splendour In The Grass as the years have gone by.

Now, the 28-year-old seems eager to put it all behind her, revealing her plans to quit music in a social media rant.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Azealia Banks posted a screenshot accompanied by a lengthy post in which she claimed that she was done with music, noting the fact that her music was often overlooked in terms of her controversies.

“You guys will ALWAYS BE MORE CONCERNED WITH BAD NEWS ABOUT ME THAN ANY OF THE PHENOMENAL MUSIC I MAKE BECAUSE ITS HOW YOU’VE BEEN TAUGHT TO RELATE TO ME,” Banks shared in all caps.

“IT DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD MY MUSIC IS I KNOW YOU GUYS DONT DESERVE IT.”

“I’m clearly not ever going to release music again,” Banks added in her Instagram caption. “I’m entirely too good for 3/4 of the public. They don’t deserve me and I don’t deserve to have my life’s purpose attached to ‘having to work three times as hard as a white woman’.

Some of her followers soon chimed in though, noting that she was responsible for most of the positions she found herself in, Banks quickly responded by saying that she is hated because she is “conventionally ugly and black”, while defending her viewpoint.

“Sad thing is I’m the most intelligent and THE MOST talented female rapper and have been for years, Banks added.

“You all will find out when it is too late and I’ve married a Russian and get to raise my kids in a fancy Siberian underground bunker while you all scramble to get indoors for 6pm curfew under us martial law.

“Don’t hate me hate your mother for not sending you to private and catholic school. Hate your very limited use of vocabulary. Hate the Board of education for failing you. Hate yourself for smoking hookah and paying fashion nova $90 for $15 clothes…….. Azealia banks is not your enemy.”

While it remains to be seen whether or not Azealia Banks will indeed keep her promise of quitting the rap game, it seems as though there are some fans out there who are very eager to see how this all plays out.
