One of the world’s most versatile and intriguing artists, Beck, has just announced a surprise Sydney performance for some lucky fans this Friday night.

With Beck touching down in Australia this week for the inaugural Sydney City Limits Festival on Saturday, fans are undoubtedly pretty keen to be seeing one of music’s most innovative names in the flesh.

Of course, Beck also announced a few sideshows for his Aussie tour, but unless you’re heading to Sydney City Limits, or live in Melbourne or Canberra, it looks like you might have been out of luck. Well, until now that it is.

Announced only a little while ago, Beck has revealed that he’s holding a surprise sideshow at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre on Friday night. Of course, with a huge name such as this playing at a venue which The Music notes as only having a capacity of 500, you can imagine that demand would be pretty high.

So to make things easier and fairer, a ballot system has been set up for fans to get their hands on tickets. The ballot is open now, and will close at 12pm on Wednesday, February 21st. You must be over 18 to enter, and if you’re successful, you’ll be notified by 5pm the same day.

If you’re keen on entering the ballot, and having the chance to see the ever-changing Beck this Friday night in an intimate Sydney venue, head along to the website and try your luck.

If you don’t reckon you’ll be free on Friday night though, tickets are still on sale now for the Sydney City Limits Festival, as well as Beck’s sideshows in Canberra and Melbourne next week.
