Beyoncé has released the first taste of the new Lion King movies accompanying album, titled ‘Spirit’.

The Lion King: The Gift will be produced and curated entirely by Queen Bey herself.

‘Spirit’ comes in with classic empowering and triumphant energy to be expected of any Bey track.

Alongside The Lion King: The Gift Disney will release the live-action Lion King’s soundtrack, meaning double the albums for us.

“This is sonic cinema,” said Beyoncé of the new album in a statement.

“This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film.

“It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

The curated album will feature multiple international artists, and we cannot wait to get our hands on it.

Beyoncé will be sharing her vocal talents as Nala in the new Disney live-action The Lion King.

The cast will also be featuring Donald Glover (as Simba), John Oliver (as Zazu), Eric André (as Azizi), Seth Rogen (as Pumbaa), and more.

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline,” said Beyoncé in an interview.

“Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation.

“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers.

Authenticity and heart were important to me.”

We cannot wait until Disney’s The Lion King hits theatres on the 17th July.

For now, we’ll be listening to ‘Spirit’ on repeat, to get us into the mood to revisit Pride Rock once more.
