Ahead of her album BAD SAD AND MAD, out later today, South Korean soloist BIBI has dropped two enigmatic teasers.
Rising K-pop soloist BIBI is all set to come back with her album BAD SAD AND MAD later today. As anticipation for the album ramps up, BIBI has shared two enigmatic teasers for the project.
Viewed together, the teasers paint a contrasting picture of the soloist. In one, she sits in a blurry landscape seeped in blues and white; in the other, she stares directly into the camera in a leather cat-suit, against fiery reds and oranges.
BAD SAD AND MAD will be the next chapter in the 22-year-old’s career after 2019’s The Manual For People Who Want To Love, which was also her debut EP. The five-track EP is described as focusing on her talent and penchant for storytelling. BAD SAD AND MAD is also thoroughly personal for the artist: she was involved in end-to-end production, concept planning, writing, composition and even styling.
In an Instagram post announcing the album last week, BIBI also provided lyrical teasers for the album’s songs. The title, ‘BAD SAD AND MAD’ was previewed with the words: ‘Break my bone and purple my eyes, you red my mind.’ In another pictorial teaser on Instagram that followed, BIBI only captioned a side view of her face with the phrase: “Open your heart.”
BIBI, whose real name is Kim Hyung-seo, rose to fame on the reality TV series The Fan. Since her solo debut, she’s been climbing charts with numerous releases that eventually caught the attention of South Korean hip-hop giant Yoon Mirae, who recruited her to Feel Ghood Music, her label.
