Bowled Over Summer Series – Goes National with Bands, Beers, BBQ & Lawn Bowls In Melbourne & Sydney

Tone Deaf launched their Bowled Over Summer Series back in 2012 with a sold out party to celebrate Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown on Australia Day at the iconic St Kilda Bowls Club in Melbourne, serving up some of Melbourne’s best up and coming bands and DJs, beers and ciders BBQ delights & the hugely popular barefoot bowling.

The event offered Melbourne punters a little outdoor paradise in the heart of St Kilda, with a daytime party, that proved so popular, that a second instalment took place for St Kilda Festival, a third on Labour Day weekend and a fourth on Anzac Day, playing host to bands such as Loon Lake, Money For Rope, Kingswood, Dirt Farmer & Crooked Saint.

The obvious next step was for Bowled Over Summer Series to go national and with some help from Corona Extra La Casa and Sailor Jerry, Tone Deaf are pleased to announce the launch of their 2013 series, with the first stop at St Kilda Bowls Club in Melbourne on Saturday 23rd March followed by Marrickville Bowls Club in Sydney on Sunday 24th March.

The hardest working Folk, Party Punksters The Smith Street Band will be doing the honours of headlining the St Kilda Bowls Club. Will Wagner and band are fresh from smashing out their huge ‘Young Drunks’ national tour which took them to places like Perth and Tasmania. So you can most definitely look forward to hearing torrential renditions of songs from their hugely successful ‘Sunshine and Technology’ LP.
Flying the flag for the rock n’ roll will be local four-piece that need no introduction, Kingswood who will head back to the Bowled Over stage after a busy 2012 that saw them play Splendour In Grass, Queenscliff and Pyramid Rock Festivals. Warming up the PA will be Tone Deaf faves The Pretty Littles and local lads Singles, with the DJs spinning tunes in between the bands all day.
