If you’re keen for some amazing music to come your way this September, then you might want to make your way up to Queensland, with the Brisbane Festival dropping its amazing full lineup today.
Following a number of huge announcements in recent weeks, including the fact that Ball Park Music and San Cisco are pencilled for the opening ceremony, Violent Soho for the closing ceremony, and a raft of others already confirmed for the fest, this year’s Brisbane Festival is shaping up to be one for the books.
Now, this year’s full lineup has dropped, giving music fans a much bigger picture about what’s on offer this September.
Kicking things off on September 8th with the festival’s opening ceremony (which features the likes of Ball Park Music, San Cisco, Ruby Fields, and Tia Gostelow), the festival continues with a huge array of names including Tkay Maidza, Jen Cloher, Gareth Liddiard, and Sarah Blasko.
Music lovers will also be treated to a rather unique experience, as both Eskimo Joe and Katie Noonan’s Elixir are set to perform stunning sets with Camerata, Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.
Yothu Yindi and The Treaty Project, Polish Club, Harry James Angus, and The Teskey Brothers also join the stacked bill alongside the already announced Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Destroyer, and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Touch Sensitive and CC:Disco are also slated to put together a special event, performing a back to back set on Saturday, September 22nd at The Courier-Mail Spiegeltent.
Proceedings are then set to wrap up on September 29th with a massive closing party that features some of Brisbane’s biggest names, including Violent Soho, Meg Mac, Methyl Ethel, and WAAX.

“Brisbane loves music and Brisbane Festival reflects that spirit with a line-up of some of our greatest local bands alongside other top Australian and international acts,” explains Brisbane Festival’s Artistic Director David Berthold.
“We’re thrilled that we can offer two, brilliant mini-festivals at Riverstage to mark our opening and closing, each led by bands that make Brisbane proud.
“And between those two concerts we have a mix of great music, often in energising one-of-a-kind presentations such as our ‘In The Round’ at The Tivoli, the Touch Sensitive/CC : Disco B2B and the Camerata collaborations.”
