Just weeks after revealing he had written a new album for The E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen has revealed the new record will be accompanied by a tour next year.

Next month will see the release of Bruce Springsteen’s 19th studio albumWestern Stars. A solo record, this will be The Boss’ latest release without the backing of his legendary E Street Band.

Writing, recording, and touring together for close to 50 years, the E Street Band has been largely absent in recent times. While they haven’t toured since 2017, Springsteen’s recent albums have either been solo, or featured a minimal amount of the group’s members.

While Springsteen revealed earlier this month that he had written an album’s worth of material for The E Street Band, he never exactly confirmed that these tunes would see the light of day.

Now, we’ve learned that there’s another classic record already in the pipeline.

Speaking to Italian newspaper Repubblica (via Page Six), Bruce Springsteen revealed that he’s already making plans for 2020.

“We will go on tour next year,” he explained. “I’ll record with the E Street Band in the autumn, and when we are done, we’ll go on tour.”

Noting that he plans to return to Italy as part of the prospective tour, this bodes well for his fans down in Australia, who last saw The Boss play live back in 2017.

While the veteran rocker is already celebrating the recent release of  theNetflix film Springsteen on Broadway, it appears that we might have another film on the way, to be released in conjunction with his upcoming solo album.

“We also shot a backstage film, in which we filmed the whole recording process from start to finish, at my house,” he revealed. “The album contains many small narratives set in the American West.”

While details about the new record from Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are currently a little scarce, fans can rest assured knowing that one of music’s most iconic and authoritative figures is set to return to your ears in no time.
