It’s almost here! BTS will perform their new single ‘Butter’ for the first time on television at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. 

It’s almost here! BTS are all set to release their new single ‘Butter’ later in May, kicking off a new era of music for their fans. Now, they’re also adding a global stage to premiere the live performance on… because that’s just how they roll, you know. Yep, BTS will be performing ‘Butter’ live for the first time at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. 

The septet just announced the news on their social media, saying: “We can’t hold it in any longer! Our debut performance of “#BTS_Butter ” will be at this year’s @BBMAs!”

The news also comes in the heat of teasers and promotions for the single that have been setting the tone for the new release. Only yesterday, the group revealed the first group teaser photo for the single: a polaroid-style shot of them in an elevator. They’ve followed it up with individual teasers for Jungkook and RM today, sending fans into a tizzy. 

2021 will see BTS return to the BBMAs for a historic fifth year. They are also up for major awards. First up, they’re nestled in with AC/DC, AJR, Dan + Shay, and Maroon 5 in the Top Dup/Group category this year. In the Top Song Sales Artist category, they’re rubbing shoulders with Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, and The Weeknd.

They’re also nominated for Top Social Artist for the fifth year in a row, This time, we get to see some familiar names from the K-pop world in this category, with the other nominees being BLACKPINK and Seventeen, along with Ariana Grande and SB19. 

Last, but not the least, they are also up for Top Selling Song for ‘Dynamite’, along with Gabby Barrett and Charlie Puth for ‘I Hope’, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for ‘WAP’, Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé for ‘Savage’, and The Weeknd for ‘Blinding Lights’.
