Following the news that Cardi B is calling time on her marriage to rapper Offset, the internet went wild with whispers that it was over the Migos rapper’s infidelity and that he had fathered a child with another woman.

Wanting to set the record straight, Cardi B got candid during an Instagram Live on Friday, September 18th, and spoke out on the real reason she called time on their three-year marriage.

“I want to say thank you so much. However, like, I don’t really need it,” Cardi told her millions of followers. “I’m okay. I want to let you know I have not shed one tear.”

Addressing rumours of adultery and acknowledging her and Offset’s tumultuous past, she added:

“This time, I wasn’t crying. Wanna know why? The reason my divorce is not because of none of that shit that ever happened before. It’s not because the cheating…”

“I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way.’ That’s a whole fucking complete lie,” she added. “That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bullshit.”

“I just got tired of fucking arguing,” she put it simply. “I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye.”

“When you feel like it’s not the same anymore before you actually get cheated on, I rather just be…,” she went on, adding, “Nothing crazy out of this world happened. Sometimes people really do fucking grow apart. I’ve been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man.”

“I want to say thank you to everybody they’ve been showing me love,” Cardi reiterated. “I’m great. I’m okay. I’m not down. I’m not devastated. I’m not hurt.”

Cardi B file for divorce on September 14th, with the split coming just three years after they secretly married in September 2017. Shortly after, they welcomed their first child together, Kulture Kiari.

As TMZ reported, Cardi is seeking primary custody of their 2-year-old daughter and an unspecified amount in child support.
