Mount Gambier trio Chelsea Manor are set to warm up the crowd in Lucindale this month, joining the bill for triple j’s One Night Stand alongside a slew of special guests.

Back in June, triple j revealed the location for the 2019 edition of their One Night Stand festival. Taking place in Lucindale, it would serve as South Australia’s third time holding the event, following on from the 2006 edition in Port Pirie, and 2011 in Tumby Bay.

With the likes of the Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley, and G Flip on the bill, the only remaining question was which of triple j’s phenomenal Unearthed artists would round out this already-phenomenal bill?

Now, we’ve received our answer, with Mount Gambier trio Chelsea Manor receiving the highly sought-after honour.

Consisting of guitarist and vocalist Bianca Hendy, bassist Ivan Heenan, and drummer Michael Collins, the group formed earlier this year following the dissolution of The Skategoats, gracing our ears for the first time in early July with the release of their debut single ‘Creaming Soda’.

Since then, they’ve been all over the triple j Unearthed charts, and have been hard at work recording new tunes for their upcoming EP. Most amazingly though, they’ve done all of this without even playing a live show, with the One Night Stand set to serve as their live debut.

“Honestly it’s actually surreal to think we’re playing alongside everybody, and that it’s our first live show under the new band,” explained Hendy. “I don’t think there is actually words to describe it, we’ve probably already peaked and we haven’t even started!”

“I’m pretty much keen to see them all play live,” she adds of the huge lineup the band are joining. “Hilltop Hoods have always been a favourite of mine but my partner is a huge G-Flip fan so I’m keen to see her rip it up also!

The good news doesn’t end there though, with huge names like A.B. Original, Didirri, Ecca Vandal, Illy, Jesswar, Kram, Nyassa, and Timberwolf all serving as special guests at this year’s event.

Performing alongside the headline acts for some special covers and collaborations, you can be sure that this year’s One Night Stand will be one worth writing home about.

If you won’t be able to make the trip over to South Australia this month, triple j have you covered, broadcasting a special selection of all the best bits on radio and the triple j app. If that’s not enough, rage will also be broadcasting a special two-hour highlight reel on Saturday, September 21st.
