On Sunday night, Childish Gambino ascended the stage of HBF Stadium to kick off his run of Splendour In The Grass sideshows. During his set Gambino confirmed that it was one of his “last ever” concerts as Gambino — he also took time to shoutout one of Australia’s most prestigious musical exports.
As Pilerats report, before launching into ‘terrified’, Gambino took a moment to pay his respects to hometown psych-heroes Tame Impala. “Do y’all fuck with Tame Impala? I fuck with Tame Impala,” he shared. “Black people really fuck with Tame Impala, y’all should be proud of him.”

We don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but we’re hoping a Donald Glover and Kevin Parker collaboration is on the horizon. Earlier this year, the pair both headlined Coachella, and they’re set to appear at Lollapalooza and Osheaga festival later this year. If we don’t get at least one onstage collaboration, I might have to throw hands.
You can catch Childish Gambino’s at one of his final ever Australian tour dates below.
