Wife of Chris Cornell confirms second ‘No One Sings Like You Anymore’

Vicky Cornell, the wife of Chris Cornell, has confirmed a follow-up to No One Sings Like You Anymore is in the works.

Volume One of No One Sings Like You Anymore was released last month, a collaboration between The Chris Cornell Estate, Vicky and her children Toni and Christopher, and UMe. It contained 10 cover tracks, personally selected by Chris to showcase the artists and songs that influenced his life.

Now, as per Blabbermouth, Vicky appeared on 105.7 The Point’s The Rizzuto Show and discussed the plans for a second collection, which will be great news to Cornell fans.

“There is a volume two,” she revealed. “The thing with this volume one, though, that makes it special is that he mastered it, he sequenced it — this is all Chris from beginning to end. And the other one was mastered, not sequenced, volume two.

And then, because he was just such a prolific writer, we’re blessed, because he has left us lots of music. Not in completely finished form, but there’s enough to work with, and the Cornell stamp is all over it. So that’s really special. So there’s a lot of music.”

Volume One was recorded back in 2016 and was his last ever completed studio album. Songs by such artists as John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Prince, and Electric Light Orchestra were reworked by Chris on it. One cover of ‘Patience’ by Guns N’ Roses brought Chris his first solo Billboard number one on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

Chris played all instruments on Volume One alongside Brendan O’Brien, who also produced and mixed the record.

While you wait for Volume Two to be readied, Volume One will be available as a physical album on March 19th.

Chris died in May 2017 following a Soundgarden show in Detroit. His death was ruled as a suicide.
