What happens at Coachella, apparently doesn’t stay at Coachella. The 2019 instalment of the festival has reportedly lead to a spike in herpes.

Reports on STD diagnosis app HerpAlert claim a 2,083% increase in herpes cases in Indio, California and its surrounding areas since Coachella’s first weekend.

HerpAlert will generally see around 16 cases a day, but that number increased to 250 during Coachella’s first day, as TMZ notes. Reports are claiming that all up, HerpAlert has diagnosed 1,105 herpes cases in SoCal (including Indio, Palm Desert, Coachella Valley, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego) as a result of Coachella weekend.

Apparently, the largest spike in data prior to this festival came during the 2018 Oscar Awards weekend, where HerpAlert received 60 cases each day.

In case you missed it: On the Indio leg of Coachella, Weezer cracked off one of the most iconic sets we’ve ever witnessed. The band made their way through a set full of classic hits. They also played host to a delicious selection of guesties. The band invited Chilli from TLC on stage to smash through a rendition of the 90’s classic ‘No Scrubs’, and Tears for Fears, who helped play along to their career-defining track, ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’. Check out all the action now.
