The Cody ChesnuTT Australian Tour 2013 has been announced with the soulful figurehead returning with his four-piece band to Australia for the first time since 2006, playing two headline shows on the East Coast this October.

Arriving in Australia for the first time since dropping his latest mix of southern-fried RnB, Prince-lined soul, and gospel-tinged hip-hop anthems in the fine fusion of Landing On A HundredChesnuTT heads to Australia courtesy of Live Nation and Niche Productions to perform at Sydney’s Metro on Saturday 19th October and then Brisbane’s The Hi-Fi on Sunday 20th October.

Arriving with their ringleader is ChesnuTT’s talented four-piece band: guitarist Joel Johnson, Jeffry Gaines on bass guitar, drummer Steve Fryson and Alvin
Giles on keyboards, helping bring his rich catalogue to life on stage.

Cody ChesnuTT’s rich R’n’B tones began circulating in the minds of many in 2002 as the sexy vocal melody punctuating The Roots’ hugely popular track ‘The Seed 2.0’. Not commonly known, ‘The Seed’ was an original track from Cody’s debut album The Headphone Masterpiece, remastered by The Roots for their seminal 2002 release Phrenology and subsequently exposing Cody’s unique blend of emotional intensity and savvy, irreverent wordplay to a mainstream audience.

Mixing a genre-defying mix of classic rock, rhythm and blues, pop, punk, and soul music with a social conscious and storytelling, following from the success of The Headphone Masterpiece, ChesnuTT recorded with a ten-piece band in Memphis’ Royal Studios – the sonic birthplace of some of the deepest works by soul and blues – to craft his long-awaited follow-up Landing On A Hundred.

Don’t miss the chance to catch a true unique musical voice in the live setting.
