Although many people think that the music made by young people is a bit on the electronic side, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has spoken out that he’s seen quite a few that “play in-your-face rock.”

Many folks today see new music as moving away from that classic rock sound, leaning more towards the electronic side of music, trading in their ax for a computer, but Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has noted that he’s seen quite a few great young bands that are embracing that driving rock sound, still.

While appearing on Offstage With DWP, Corey Taylor noted that he knows of “a ton of younger bands that play their own instruments, that play in-your-face rock.”

With everything that’s going on in the world, Taylor detailed that the young bands he’s been listening to are “rebelling against what the rebellion was against us,” noting that “they’re going back to basics in a lot of ways.”

Additionally, Taylor detailed that his own son’s band, Vended, is very legitimate in the world of rock’n’roll, stating that his son Griffin Taylor’s position as frontman of the band is a real treat, as well as Slipknot member Clown’s son Simon Crahan featuring as percussionist: “Not to toot my son’s horn too much, but his band, they’re the real deal.”

Taylor then detailed that he attended his son’s first show, and mentioned that it was an “insane” gig. “I was at their first show, and there was no sampling, there was no nothing. They just came on and they just punched the shit out of the audience for 30 minutes.”

Following after, Taylor remembers being “exhausted,” whilst mesmerised that “they did it all on their own,” stating, “I think there’s a whole new generation of fans coming up that are gonna do that.”
