Courtney Love has criticised the forthcoming Hulu limited series, Pam & Tommy.
Lily James and Sebastian Stan are set to play the titular roles of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. The series will centre on the controversy surrounding the couple’s stolen and leaked sex tape. Also starring in the series is Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, Spenser Granese and Mozhan Marnò.
Pam and Tommy married in 1995, four days after the couple met for the first time. A sex tape they made together was stolen by Rand Gauthier (played by Seth Rogen), an electrician who installed a security system for Lee.
Courtney Love took to Facebook to condemn Pam & Tommy, denouncing the concept as “fucking outrageous”.
The Hole frontwoman explained that she was in the studio with Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf der Maur when the sex tape leaked. “The lone women in many recording studios in LA where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfreude,” she wrote. “Guffaws, it was disgusting. I banned anyone discussing it.”
“It destroyed my friend Pamelas life,” Love added. “Utterly.”
Love went on to detail that last week she was asked to approve a Mark Sellinger-shot Rolling Stone photograph of her in the series.

“I said “fuck no,” she adds. “Shocked. Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing. My heart goes out to Pammy further causing her complex trauma.”
