A Dallas Frasca Australian Tour 2014 has been announced along with a brand new single from the overseas-storming rockers.
The explosive riffage of ‘Lizard Boy’ demonstrates exactly why Dallas Frasca have earned such a fiercely loyal following both in Australia and Europe, and is also the first taste of their highly anticipated third album Love Army, due mid-2014, recorded with Aussie producer Lindsay Gravina (Cosmic Psychos, the Living End, Spiderbait, Jet) at Birdland Studios in Prahran, Melbourne.
To celebrate the release, the band will hit the road for a mighty 10-date national tour across April and May, bringing their famed live show to major cities Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, as well as a number of regional towns across the country.
As our Tone Deaf reviewer remarked of the band’s live show, “anyone who thinks rock ‘n’ roll is dead needs to go and spend some time with Dallas Frasca.” The titular front woman’s colossal stage presence and devastating vocals are equally matched by the monumentally unmistakable guitar tones of Jeff Curran and trademark gargantuan hitter, Zane Rosanoski on drums.
When speaking of the new single, Dallas said, “‘Lizard Boy’ is a politically charged beast and the collective consciousness of the entire band aligned. We decided to release ‘Lizard Boy’ a little earlier than we planned, as it is so relevant about our current political climate. This song is a voice for the people, I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like we are being misrepresented with many of the present issues we are facing in this country.”
The band, who formed in 2006, won Triple J’s, ‘Light Your Fuse’. Bluesfest promoter, Peter Noble, discovered them at the event and invited the trio to feature at his festival in Byron Bay later that month.
They played to a 6,000+ strong audience as one of their first ever performances together, before going on to perform at countless festivals in Australia and worldwide, including Big Day Out, Falls Fest, Pyramid Rock, Festival of the Sun, Apollo Bay, Queenscliff Music Fest, Southbound & Point Nepean and various international festivals; Blues Passions, Crazy Week, International Earth Day (Canada) & Les Nuits de La Guitare de Patrimonio (FR) to name a few.
