Mashd N Kutcher‘s remix of Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ ‘Get On The Beers’ quote has become a modern classic, and it may well top the triple j Hottest 100.
The enforced lockdown in Melbourne during the worst of the pandemic in 2020 was an awful time, but it inadvertently spawned a now-iconic Aussie moment: Dan Andrews telling folks it was not appropriate for people to get together and “get on the beers” at a press conference in March on 2020.
After Mashd N Kutcher made a cheeky little remix by sampling this quote from Andrews, things blew up as the bit went viral, so much so that a festival in WA ended up playing it.
The ‘Get On The Beers’ remix has become something of a rally cry for Dan Andrews fans, who managed to push it to No.2 on the iTunes charts and over 1.4 million streams on Spotify. To be fair, it is a bit of a banger.
Now that the worst of the pandemic is over, it seems like those passionate folks have a new goal in mind to really signal support for the Victorian Premier: getting ‘Get On The Beers’ into the triple j Hottest 100.
And from the looks of how things are going, those Dan Andrews fans may well succeed in a way that no one expected.
On the triple j Hottest 100 prediction site 100 Warm Tunas, which scans hashtags on social media platforms to track people’s votes and puts those into a model to predict who will win, ‘Get On The Beers’ is currently sitting at a ridiculously impressive 15th.

Now just a heads up though, this prediction isn’t entirely accurate, especially with triple j trying to thwart the system in recent years. But hey, let’s just enjoy this wildcard of an entry’s success for the time being.
With the triple j countdown set to air on Saturday, January 23rd, we won’t have long to wait to see where on the Hottest 100 ‘Get On The Beers’ landed, so get those beers ready for when Mashd N Kutcher’s silky remix of Dan Andrews’ velvety voice hits the airwaves.
